Facelift 25 Years Later

nearly 150 year old building received a facelift. This quick read gives a bit of

1 200 Year old Artifacts at Rocanville Folsom Site

Pieces of our Sarazin display were loaned to archaeologist Dr. Thomas Richards in                              2019 for his research of the Folsom period in Saskatchewan. The Folsom Period                              occurred around 1 200 years ago when many pieces of this collection have been                                dated to. Check out these articles for more information, or come in to check             out the Sarazin display today! Ancient artifacts found near Rocanville and Discovery shows First Nations activity in Sask 12,000 years ago

Museum Newsletter

The Museum Newsletter first started with a spring issue in 1990 and published

quarterly with Everett Rice being the leader. After Everett's unexpected passing

in 1993, the Museum Newsletter was carried on a few more issues by other

museum volunteers. The last newsletter we have is from the 1994 winter issue.

These newsletters kept the community updated on the goings on at the museum,

held small contests guessing mystery artifacts, information on on various

museum artifacts, and much more. Check out some of the issues at the Town of Rocanville website or come read them at the Rocanville Museum!

SASKSCAPES – The Rocanville Market

On July 24th, 2015 Kevin Power of the podcast "SASKSCAPES" came out to our annual                Market at the Museum. Kevin spent some time interviewing Jamie MacLeod, some of                 the museum staff at the time, and a few other community members (as seen in the           image to the left) in attendance about Rocanville, the museum and why they are proud     to call it "my town". Give it a listen here and see if you can recognize anyone, or agree with why they are proud to call Rocanville "my town".

Videos

Some guests and volunteers have emjoyed their time at our museum so much that

they share them on social media as well! Get a sneak peak into all of the goings on

during our Annual Threshing Day in September by watching this video. Here is a

video of one of our long time volunteers running our 1912 Rumely Oil Pull at the

Old Tyme Harvest for Hunger in Langenburg back in 2013.
